Gents 8yd Selkirk Tweed Heavy Weight Kilt

Our Gents' 8 Yard Selkirk Tweed Kilt is traditionally hand-stitched in Scotland by our own experienced kiltmakers using 8 yards of premium 100% heavyweight Selkirk Tweed. Every kilt is individually made using traditional techniques, with all of the shaping worked into the pleats to create the exceptional fit, drape and swing that only a hand-made kilt can achieve.

We believe in making kilts to the very highest standard, creating garments that are built to last for generations. Each kilt is supplied with a matching pair of tweed flashes, and we're happy to guide you through taking your measurements to ensure a perfect fit.

The Selkirk Tweed collection is woven by Lochcarron of Scotland at their mill in Selkirk. Made from 100% pure new wool, this premium heavyweight tweed collection features a selection of classic colours and a traditional kilting selvedge, making it an ideal choice for a beautifully crafted Scottish kilt.

How to take measurements
Taking your measurements Measurements are quite simple to take and we will check them over before making your kilt.
You will need someone else to measure you. Stand straight looking forward while they take your measurements.

Kilt Waist: This is taken around the 'natural waist'. This needs to be quite a tight measurement, the natural waist is usually around the level of the belly button.

Kilt Seat: This is a loose measurement taken around the widest part - so usually the widest part of the bottom. The tape measure needs to be quite loose for this - a good idea is to keep 3 fingers inside the tape measure.

Kilt Length: Still standing straight, looking forward measure from 1 inch above the natural waist (so belly button level) straight down to the middle of the knee. Bending the knee slightly can reveal where the middle of the knee is.
