Registration notes: Cameron of Lochiel has a plaid in this tartan that is thought to be c.1820. The sett is said to have been taken from a portrait in Achnacarry of the Gentle Lochiel painted by George Chalmers in 1764 but recent research has shown that that sett to be different. This pattern is thought to have been designed by the firm William Wilson & Son Bannockburn in the early 1800s.
