Hand Fasting is an ancient Celtic tradition - where the term 'tying the knot' comes from. By placing tartan around your joined hands is a symbolic gesture to represent your union as a married couple. Using tartan shows the joining together, becoming part of the 'Clan' and embraces your Scottish Heritage, making it part of the ceremony. Here with thanks to advice from our customers created a hand fasting tartan ribbon - it is 120cm long by 10cm wide. We have hemmed the edges. We can make this in well over 500 tartans. Here we have the Medium weight Tartan Range. We can also do this in all the other tartan ranges - please contact us to find out more. The Medium weight tartans are medium weight and are around 13oz - 14oz.
