This is a complete set of everything you need to hand-sew one 8 yard kilt. This goes alongside the Online Kiltmaking Course.
This Kit Includes:
A Kilt Length of Medium Weight Tartan from House of Edgars ranges; Hebridean, Seventeen Eighty Three and Genesis. This is to make an 8 yard kilt.
Kiltmaking Workbook,
1 metre of Canvas
1 metre of Cotton Lining
2 Leather Kilt Straps
2 Kilt Buckles
Kilt Waxed Thread - we will give you the relevant colour to your chosen tartan (Kilt thread is available in Black, Red, Green and Navy)
Practice Pleating and Sewing Tartan: You will receive 2 metres by 25cms of the following tartans:

Campbell Weathered
Buchanan Ancient
Fraser Modern
Black Cotton Practice Squares
White 'Tacking' Thread
About this Tartan Range:
House of Edgars in Perthshire weaves a range of double width tartans they call their Hebridean Range and also a range called Seventeen Eighty Three Tartans,also woven in double width
In collaboration with Tartan Historian Peter MacDonald House of Edgars also came out with a small range of 'historical'tartans in their Genesis Range. This range is woven in single width and double width.
There is a lmit to the length of kilt - 28 inches. If you are looking at sewing a floor length Ladies Kilt this requires 6 - 7 yards of double width tartan, so more tartan. This would mean an increase of price. This can only be done with double width cloth. Please make sure you select the correct tartan. A wrong tartan can be swapped but there is an extra charge for this.
